What you’ll do

  • Draft and review estate planning instruments — wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives — under attorney supervision.
  • Support live probate and estate administration matters, from petitions and inventories to accountings and court filings.
  • Research novel questions in guardianship, conservatorship, and fiduciary litigation, and turn that research into clear, usable memos.
  • Sit in on client meetings and see how counsel translates the law into calm, practical guidance for families.

Who we’re looking for

  • Current law students (1L–3L) or recent graduates with a genuine interest in estate planning, probate, elder law, or fiduciary work.
  • Strong writers who can make complex ideas plain — writing is the core of what we do.
  • Careful, organized, and discreet; our clients trust us with the most personal details of their lives.
  • Bonus: prior exposure to trusts & estates coursework, a clinic, or a fiduciary or probate internship.

Why dCZ

  • Real responsibility, real mentorship. You work directly with our attorneys on active matters, not busywork.
  • A firm that’s building. dCZ is a growing, tech-forward boutique — you’ll see how a modern practice actually runs.
  • A mission that matters. We help families protect what they’ve built and provide for the people they love. Clerks are part of that work.
